Lee on the scoresheet again with Joga Bonito
He's a nice horse and he had good form, and around here you need experience,. He probably needed to be a gelding, he wasn't a well-behaved colt. I'd say that operation has brought about improvement. When we gelded him, we had a few races that we thought might suit and this was the first of them. I think he's a horse that can continue to progress.

Kings Hill gives Gilligan a third win in the 'Blazers'
On home soil, it's lovely to win here,. . This race has been good to us, it's the third time we have won it. We hunted with the Blazers as we grew up. My kids hunted with the Blazers. They are all involved at home, and it's a credit to them really. My name is only on the licence, it's a real team effort. . I'd love to think he would have been a Galway Plate horse. We might look at that next year. He's very versatile ground-wise. I've probably had this in mind since Jack (Gilligan, son) won on him in Limerick. It was all about today and we'll see from here. It means an awful lot to us. We drew a blank here last year, and you'd be like a briar when you go home. . I would say we'll work back from the Galway Plate next year. Horses for courses. He's a course and distance winner now, so we'll strongly consider it.
Back-to-back premier handicap wins for Thread Of Gold
Every time I worked him at home last year, he worked better every day,. He is just improving with racing. He was very free early on, but Billy got him settled in behind. He said once he got a bit of cover, he settled lovely. He was doing a half-speed into the dip. When you look at the head-on, you'd say he had no chance coming through that wall of horses. Billy said he had so much horse underneath him, he was just waiting for an opening. As soon as it opened, he was gone through them. . A great sign of a horse is what he did after the line, he couldn't pull him up. That to me showed me that there is huge improvement there. He has plenty of speed, you saw that last year. What he also has now is stamina. With the two of them, we have a proper racehorse. He'll be out of handicaps now, so we'll look at Listed or group races.

Mulvany's Express piles the misery on the bookies
It's lovely when you have one that's set up for it,. . I told the owner two months ago that I thought he was a Galway horse. He just scraped in at the bottom of the weights. There is a big long hill up there and you need to be able to stay and have the heart for it. . We put cheekpieces on him today, just to liven him up. At Fairyhouse the last day, he kind of half went to sleep and didn't know what he was doing. . The hardest part is to keep it rolling (good run of form). The wheels could come off the bus very easily. . We seem to have a nice team of horses and we have great staff. We don't have many new owners, lads have been with me for years. I wouldn't mind if someone came with a cheque book!
Vantage Code puts favourite backers in further credit
He was impressive here tonight, and we made up for the mishap on Monday night, we settled a score,. . He just got a bit fractious when we were saddling him on Monday evening, so we tried the hood tonight. . I don't think he's ever worn it in his life. For the first half of the race, I was wondering was he gone too quiet! . That's just the chances we take, and thankfully it came off this time. He was very relaxed in the first half of the race and he was able to conserve energy. The race was over in the dip. The extra distance helped as well.
Counting Coup foils Taipan's hat-trick bid
I actually thought we were done, and then I saw the replay and I felt we were up,. He's tough. I was training him for the GPT (Connacht Hotel Amateur Handicap), but I got a phone call last Friday to say he wasn't qualified because he hadn't had three runs on the Flat, so went for this. A bit of a difference in pots! . I was shocked when I saw the price (20/1) this morning. We made it pay well anyway!. It's only his fourth run. Jumping will be his game but we'll try and steal a big pot before we go jumping with him. I entered him in a Group 3 in the Curragh on August 22nd but it could be a bit too hot. It was closing so I threw him into it. He's a proper horse, the real deal.
