Permission was given for Ajrar (GB) to go early to post.
Muatadel (GB), trained by Roger Fell, ran without its right fore shoe as the trainer had not indicated at declaration stage that the gelding should be withdrawn in the event of losing a shoe on the way to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving the winner, Muatadel (GB), ridden by Daniel Tudhope; Ajrar (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Martin Dwyer and God Willing (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Zak Wheatley.
Being a 7lb claimer, Wheatley was offered accompaniment, but declined.
The interference was found to be accidental in that Ajrar (GB) had shied away from MUATDEL and shifted right towards the rail, which caused a free-running God Willing (GB) to clip Ajrar (GB)’s heels and stumble.
Following the race, David Allan reported that GEORGE’S LAW, placed sixth, reared as the stalls opened and missed the break as a result.
Martin Dwyer reported that Ajrar (GB), placed fourth, hung left throughout and the Veterinary Officer reported that Diamond Pursuit (GB), unplaced, bled from the nose.
