Following concerns raised by the riders at the start regarding the low sun obscuring their vision at the two flights in the back straight, the Stewards consulted with the Clerk of the Course and ordered that these obstacles should be by-passed for this race.
Following the race, Charlie Hammond reported that Lightening Gesture (GB), placed third, ran too free.
Sean Houlihan reported that By Pass (GB), which was unplaced, stopped quickly; Bill Turner further reported that the filly was unsuited by the Good to Soft, Good in places going which, in his opinion, was tacky, and that By Pass (GB) would prefer a firmer surface.
