THE WICKS GROUP CAVENDISH CUP HANDICAP STEEPLE CHASE (CLASS 3) (GBB RACE) An enquiry was held to consider interference on the final bend turning out the back straight involving the winner, Tommie Beau (IRE), ridden by Benjamin Macey, and Grand Clermont (FR), placed fourth, ridden by Rian Corcoran.
Macey was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift in on the bend without sufficient correction resulting in Corcoran having to stop riding for a number of strides.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Stratagem (FR), placed third, and Fairlawn Flyer (GB), which started second-favourite and finished fifth, both finished lame on their left- fore leg.
