ACADEMY SIR HARRY showed the benefit of his debut run were he stayed on late behind Uimhiraceathair at Navan last month by going one better here. He threw down a well-timed challenge to lead early in the straight, and stayed on strongly to deny warm favourite An Innocent Man.

The market leader looked in big trouble when ridden along to keep in touch with the leaders from half a mile out but to his credit stayed on well.

Blame The Missus was prominent throughout but could find no extra in the final quarter mile, and his rider was looking down in the closing stages as if the gelding had lost his action.

Paddy Deane kept on well in the straight having been off the pace, while Cooksgrove Lady made a pleasing debut. She kept on well inside the final two furlongs without being given too hard a race, and should progress from this introduction.
