Approaching final furlong, the winner, Central Command (IRE), edged slightly left-handed at the same time that Cranachan (GB), placed fourth, lugged right-handed resulting in the latter having to be checked by its rider when awkwardly placed on the heels of Central Command (IRE), but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Central Command (IRE).

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approaching the ½ furlong marker, involving the winner, Central Command (IRE), ridden by Daniel Muscutt and My Ballyquinn (GB), placed second, ridden by David Nolan.

The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Central Command (IRE)’s placing as despite drifting left-handed and intimidating MY BALLYQUIN off its intended racing line, the effect on MY BALLYQUIN was accentuated by its own wayward racing manners and Central Command (IRE) was always holding the runner up through to the line, winning by a head margin.

Muscutt was cautioned for careless riding as he was slow to correct his mount from shifting left-handed, thereby causing minimal interference to MY BALLYQUIN.

Following the race, Cam Hardie reported that Mudita (IRE), placed third, hung right-handed under pressure.
