An enquiry was held to consider why Michael Appleby was running Loch Ness Monster (IRE) here at Sandown on going described as Good to Firm, having declared the gelding a non-runner at Windsor on 12 August 2019 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer’s representative stated that in their opinion, the ground was quicker than described at Windsor and the ground today was better suited to Loch Ness Monster (IRE).
Following the race, Theodore Ladd reported that Loch Ness Monster (IRE), placed sixth, ran too free and Kieran O'Neill reported that Thorn (GB), placed fourth, stumbled turning for home.
