The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Our Duke, trained by Mrs John Harrington, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. R.M. Power, rider of Our Duke, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled and never jumped throughout. The Stewards requested a report from Gordon Elliott, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Outlander, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer's representative reported that this horse may have benefited from being ridden more prominently today. This, combined with the first time application of cheek pieces may have accounted for a return to form today. Having considered the report the Stewards noted its contents. Mrs John Harrington, trainer of Our Duke, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her charge scoped abnormally post race.
