The Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn into the straight involving Nelson Road, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed fifth and Zilbiyr (FR), ridden by Gary Paul Halpin, placed first. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was accidental and took no further action. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Kubali, trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal, having lost a right hind shoe. G.M.Lyons, trainer of Kubali, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge lost a hind shoe in running. Gary Paul Halpin, rider of Zilbiyr (FR) trained by John James Feane, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ducked in on the final bend.
