The Clerk of the Scales reported that Kai Lenihan, the rider of Sackett (GB), placed seventh, trained by Neil King, had weighed in at 10 stone 5Ibs having weighed out at 10 stone 3Ibs.
The rider, the trainer’s representative and the Clerk of the Scales were interviewed.
Lenihan was suspended for 1 day for weighing in at 2Ibs overweight.
Following the race, Katie O’Farrell reported that Champagne Noir (IRE), placed fifth, beaten by 45¾ lengths, was never travelling and the representative of Nigel Hawke reported that Kendelu (IRE), which started second-favourite and finished sixth, was unsuited by the Soft ground on this occasion and would prefer a faster surface.
