The Stewards received a report from Mr. W. Flemming, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Sarah Kavanagh, rider of Miss Titanic, had presented herself to weigh out at 2 lbs overweight, which was not declared. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the overweight having consulted with R.K. Watson, trainer of Miss Titanic, but were satisfied that Sarah Kavanagh was in breach of Rule 198(vii) and having considered her previous record in this regard, they issued a fine of ?150

An extended handicap steeplechase for five yrs old and upwards (109 = 11st 10lb) Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 11st 10lb Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap to carry 4lb extra for each such steeplechase won. Riders - Confined to Professional under I.N.H.S. Rules who have not lost the right to claim the allowance under Rule 52 (iii). Allowances (up to and including 27th February and which are not cumulative) who have not ridden the winners of 25 *races allowed 4lb Those who have not ridden the winners of 40 *races allowed 2lb No allowance to riders under Rule 52 (iii) may be claimed.
