After an initial false start, the start was effected successfully on the second attempt.
However, having reviewed recordings of the false start, the Starters were satisfied that no riders should be reported for contravening the starting procedures.
Jane Walton was cautioned as Uptown Harry (IRE) had arrived in the Parade Ring wearing a visor instead of its declared blinkers.
The blinkers were located and fitted to the gelding before going to the start.
An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the first bend, when Universal Folly (GB), placed second, ridden by Sam Coltherd, interfered with Court At Slip (IRE), which was pulled up, ridden by Mr William Easterby.
The interference was found to be accidental as Uptown Harry (IRE) had initially hung left-handed off the bend, allowing Coltherd to improve position on his inside.
When Uptown Harry (IRE) had been corrected, Coltherd was placed awkwardly on heels, which in turn caused Easterby to be short of room and take back.
The performance of Hello Judge (GB), which started second favourite but was pulled up, was considered.
Ann Hamilton explained that the gelding may have been unsuited by the drying Good, Good to Soft in places ground on this occasion, and would prefer a slower surface.
Hello Judge (GB) was routine tested.
