Silk Braid wins on debut to extend Whearty's advantage
She was impressive, she showed that at home. We’re delighted for Jerome and Lisa (Hulin) that bred her and they also manage the Sheikh’s horses as well up in Grangecon. It’s also brilliant for Robert, to get him a vital winner for the championship. He comes in and rides out for us twice a week, he’s a good member of the team so it’s great to help him. She wants that ground and she’ll get a bit further next year. We were trying to get her out on the grass, she came into us late. We had her entered next week if something happened but she doesn’t need to run again.
Journey set for sales after impressive win
He’s a nice horse. I was delighted the ground change to soft because he is a Caravaggio and he actually grows a leg on soft ground,. We were very confident today. I had Colin Keane back on board, he won on him by seven-and-a-half lengths (at Naas back in April). He got a 16lb rise then so he said he owed us one!. He is in the October Horses-in-Training Sale. I’d be sorry to lose him because I think he’d be a good four-year-old as well. He’s going the right way. I’d say there is a big premier handicap in him. I’d be sorry to let him go but we’ll put a good reserve on him. I bought two nice yearlings and somebody has to pay for them!

Retracement justifies strong support to gain first Irish win
He’s a horse with a lot of ability but he’s a little bit tricky. He’s starting to settled into the place now. He’s a bit keen and he was running with his head up in the air a bit. I think he’s really grown up mentally more than anything else. We fancied him a few times but riding him the way we rode him it was always going to be tough to win. I thought coming today he was in good shape, he was after growing up. He’s in the mile-and-a-half handicap (at Leopardstown) on Sunday and we’ll see how he is. We’ll decide it over the next few days.

Magnificent seven for Loingseoir in Curragh finale
Jack gave him a great ride. I told him to take his time as I knew there would be a good pace with Verhoyen in it,. It set up nicely for him and he just held on. It’s 13 months since he won and the handicapper has been slow to drop him. The horse is getting older and getting slower so he has to come down. I wasn’t really expecting it as I thought his last three runs were disappointing. He surprised me today but he likes it here so you never know. I think there is a race on the last day here but I might just leave him off after this. He probably only has another year in him as he’s turning 10 next year. He’s been a great servant to the yard.
