An enquiry was held to consider the placings following an objection from Hector Crouch, the rider of Lucander (IRE), placed second, to the winner, YOU’RE HIRED, ridden by Callum Shepherd, on the grounds of his mount being bumped and carried off its intended line inside the final furlong, to be beaten by a head.
After interviewing both riders and viewing recordings of the incident the Stewards were satisfied that no interference had taken place and that both horses had drifted independently before Shepherd straightened YOU’RE HIRED up.
Lucander (IRE) also appeared to lose no momentum as a result and was always being held by YOU’RE HIRED inside the final furlong.
