Moon strikes again at Dundalk
President finds nice opportunity
He was up in trip and got a good ride. Donagh had ridden him early on in the year and he liked him. He rode him work last week and he was very happy with the work. He had a few little niggles in December, and I was hoping to get a run into him just before Christmas and he couldn't get it. We just had to bide our time. Three-year-old only races seem to be kind of weak enough at this time of year and seem to have small fields - it actually worked out grand. I was hoping when Ado won the other night (with Movin And Groovin) that he wouldn't declare again!. He had shown enough during the year to suggest that he would win a race. When you get into January in Dundalk, it is just found is a bit easier. You can make a little bit of hay this time of year when it is easier. It is great that January and February is here, it just gives you a chance with those horses. He's no superstar, but he is capable of winning a race or two in his own level. He got the mile well there. It gives us another option and you could step up. Possibly, he could jump a hurdle later on in the year. We'll see how he steps up to a mile and a-quarter as we move on through the year.
Glory bags back-to-back wins
The horse loves the far rail anyway!. It wasn't the plan (the last day) and I said to Leigh going out 'wherever he wants to go, you just go with him'. He hangs to the far side, but he finds. He is happier now than he was, so we are delighted with him. His head went a little bit wrong before, but he is loving it now at the minute. He's a hot horse, he takes a little bit of minding at home. He can kind of overdo things a bit, but we have found the key to him now. Hopefully, there is another one in him. He is entered on Friday in a '70' back up over seven (furlongs), so we will see how he comes out of this. I'd like to thank the owners, the Bajan Invasion Syndicate, for sticking with him because we knew he had a bit of ability and it is paying dividends now. He's going so well here, we will probably give him a break during the summer. He is in all winter and is going a long time.

Ferrari hangs on to give Murphy brace
I think he won off something similar (mark) before. At home, he kind of works a bit keen so we were trying him with a shorter trip. He worked very well last week and he kind of stayed at it, so we said we would let him back up to 10 furlongs. I just worried, with the extended 10 here, would he stay and look he just barely held on at the line. We will see whether we will stick to 10 with him or whether we will go back to eight. I'm delighted to get a win out of him. He was kind of off the pace in his runs before. When he was able to lie up with the pace, he seemed to be more into it.
Shay strikes again for Lupini
It was a very good ride - he kept it simple and positive, and that was what we had in mind tonight. We were hoping, obviously, that he was going to stay. At the same time, last week, it looked like an extra two furlongs wouldn't be a problem. He seems to be going in the right direction. Leigh thinks there might be a good race in him, so hopefully he is right. Leigh thought he was a little bit keen, but then he came back on the bridle and travelled lovely. He is happy and over the weekend he ate up, and we were happy to run him again tonight. The grass on good ground shouldn't be a problem for him going forward. We will consider that and hopefully he will keep improving.
