Runcok opens his chasing account despite late scare
Arctic Fly wins under O'Keeffe to give Mullins quick double
Repeat win for May Call You Back brings up Mullins treble
Brian went down the rail and I think that made the difference. She travelled a lot more kindly than she did the last day in Tramore, and I’d say fences improved her as she jumps so well. She’s in on Friday in Wexford and if she gets in, she’ll probably run again there.
Pride Of Place gets off the mark under O'Dwyer
I just had a phone call from his previous trainer, Michael Hourigan, and he told me how to train him. He got a lovely ride from Charlie and goes on the good ground. That was a 0-110 and he’s 101 so hopefully he might still be in the same bracket. He stays well and I thought I’d win a Ladies Cup with him so that’s gone out the window now!
Born Bright wins Opportunity race for Smith and O'Connell
It means the world to win with a homebred filly, and we’ve had this family for four or five generations. She was very unlucky at Limerick where she had a hard fall, and I think in Roscommon she was jumping big and slow and needed confidence. We freshened her up and thought she was in good form coming here today in her first handicap. She won her point-to-point and three miles is no problem to her. She missed a few down the back when they really started racing, but she’s tough and keeps galloping. She wants good ground, and we might bring her over to Perth if we have to.
Mum-to-be Belle The Lioness completes her CV
I’m delighted with that. She’s in foal to Harzand so I’m not sure if she will have another run or not. She came forward from Tramore well and the step up in trip helped her. She’s won a bumper, hurdle and a chase and is black type so she’ll be a nice broodmare.
Arctic Gale opens chasing account under Donagh Meyler
It would have been nice if he’d done it in one of those 20 grand auction maiden hurdles, but we had to eventually move on and give up on that. His jumping over fences seems to be a lot better than over hurdles and Donagh said that’s what kept him in the race today with the early pace. It’s nice to get that under his belt and hopefully he’s going the right way. I wouldn’t have any worry stepping him up in trip and he might mix it over hurdles and fences at Galway.
Dark Note gets up late to deny Caesar Rock in finale
He’s a great auld servant and has won now on the Flat, over hurdles and fences. He gives the boys (For The Good Times Syndicate) a good day out every day he runs. You can be sure he’ll be in Killarney and Galway and will keep mixing it. Cian was very happy with him today and thought the extra trip was a big plus to him which will open up a few more options. He was slower than the other horse at the last but had the Flat speed to quicken up well.
