The winner, Buckna (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Newton Abbot on 29 October 2025 where the gelding was pulled up in a field of eleven runners.
Warren Greatrex explained that the gelding had appreciated the step back up in trip to 3 miles 1 furlong and 44 yards on this occasion having previously raced at 2 miles 4 furlongs and 216 yards and 2 miles 3 furlongs on its previous two starts.
