Permission was given for Minniemum (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
After an initial false start, the start was effected successfully on the second attempt.
However, having reviewed recordings of the false start, the Starters were satisfied that no riders should be reported for contravening the starting procedures.
The winner, Lady Balko (FR), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Cheltenham on 16 November 2025 where the mare was pulled up.
The explanation given by David Pipe’s representative that the mare had benefitted from having received veterinary treatment for stomach ulcers since its last run, was noted.
Lady Balko (FR) was routine tested.
Following the race, Charlie Hammond reported that Kosasiempre (FR), placed fourth, jumped left- handed throughout and the Veterinary Officer reported that Flowing Cadenza (GB), unplaced, lost its left- hind shoe.
