An enquiry was held to consider the placings following interference after jumping the last hurdle, involving, the winner, Lady Henrietta (GB), ridden by Elliot England and Dance Rules (IRE), placed second, ridden by Sean Bowen.
Being a 7lb claiming conditional, England was accompanied in the enquiry by the trainer.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Lady Henrietta (GB)’s placing, as despite hanging right-handed and intimidating Dance Rules (IRE) the gelding lost no ground and little momentum before being eased in the final strides to be beaten by a length on the line.
Therefore, the Stewards ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
The interference was found to be accidental as Lady Henrietta (GB) hung right-handed, despite England’s best efforts to correct the mare.
