it’s lovely for the lads (Kevin and Peter Blessing, owners), as they actually have franchises with Domino’s Pizza!
The Lion In Winter makes winning return
We’re delighted with him and he was just ready to start. The plan was to come here and then go to the (Group 1) Lockinge. He has had a run now, obviously, before going to Newbury. He just got a bit tired but Wayne was very happy with him. He has a lot of racing to do this year. so we didn’t want to have him too ready starting off.
All positives for Mixed Feelings
She obviously had a good run last year, so you’d hope that she’d come here and be hard to beat, but you don’t see them pull lengths away from the field like that very often. I thought it was an impressive win and she looks like a nice filly. We could jump into a Guineas trial but she did still look a bit green there, so we might look at having another run somewhere before we go into a Group race. We’ll see how she pulls out and then can decide, but she’s a nice filly for the future. She coped with that going, but Joey said she’d be better on better ground. I’d say she’ll be versatile.

Glory To Be wins for Billy Lee
it was a great run the last day when Wayne (Lordan, rider then) said it was unfortunate that the winner just hit her right on the line, so didn’t get a chance to fight her off. All she wants to do is get into a battle and she stayed the seven furlongs really well today. We always thought she would stay but we kept her in the five and six furlong maidens last year because they are less competitive. She had no problem staying seven furlongs today and probably didn’t know herself as she was in her comfort zone early on and seemed to enjoy it. Hopefully she’s a fun filly and we’ll find something with her now. There is a nice fillies handicap in Gowran next Wednesday so we might look at that.
Team Slattery continues excellent form in Leopardstown finale
Exceeding is what he is although I want to get him up in the handicap, as he’s very lowly rated and is probably better than his mark. I have a few girl apprentices who haven’t ridden yet so I want to get him rated higher, and not suspended from running, so they can have a few spins on him. He’s also actually worth having as a lead horse, as he’s very good to lead the two-year-olds. He’s actually better than what he lets on he is!. The seven furlongs today definitely helped, he looked like he needed every bit of it there. I’d say an ease in the ground is a help to him too.
