Having passed the winning post first time, the winner, Mr Bramley (GB), edged right-handed off a line, carrying Scrumpy (GB), placed fourth, across the heels of Pearly King (GB), which was pulled up, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Mr Bramley (GB).
Following the race, Jonathan Burke reported that Absolute Steel (IRE), which was pulled up, stopped quickly; the Veterinary Officer examined the gelding during routine post-race testing and had nothing to report.
