Admiral gives Mulvany first juvenile success
We went to Galway hoping for a good run and he followed that up today,. He needed that little bit of give to be at his best. Hopefully he's a good prospect. We think a lot of him. I don't know where we'll go with him now. He's a big weak horse and will do nothing only improve.
Gondolier flies home to take claimer
The cut in the ground really helped and he needs the blinkers,. He used to work well in the spring but I ended up gelding him. I was hoping to win a little nursery with him. I don't think the handicapper will be too hard as he woudn't be impressed too much with that race. It's job done. I love winning at Sligo - it's a lovely place. My mother, who owns him, is from Ballymote. So the pressure was on today!
Smullen shines on Gandolfini
He probably deserved that. He ran well at Cork last time when it was too short of a trip for him,. The ground helped as he likes a good ease. That's why he (Smullen) is champion jockey. It's unfortunate for Daryl (Byrne) though who couldn't do the weight. I might run him again at the Curragh this weekend over six furlongs.
Chosen proves the one in Fillies contest
We brought her to Galway for the Topaz Mile but she got no run and Pat looked after her,. Eimear (Mulhern) handed in her licence and very kindly sent her to us. She came to us good condition and a lot of the credit has to go to Eimear. She's a very genuine mare and as the rain fell her chance got better as she wants a good cut. The main aim is to get her some black-type towards the end of the year as she's a well-bred filly.
Flame gets deserved success
I'm delighted to win for (owner) Herb (Stanley). He's been a long time trying to get his head in front and he's had great patience,. At least he's got over that barrier now. I don't know where the next move is now.
Line gets it right at Sligo
