THE MIDNITE A NEXT GENERATION BETTING APP HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) (DIV I) Permission was given for Teardrops (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Inside the final ½ a furlong, Teardrops (GB), placed third, shifted quickly right-handed moving Captain Vallo (IRE), placed fourth, off its intended line, which in turn caused Laurens Dream (GB), placed fifth, to be short room and eased.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Teardrops (GB).
The winner, Howzak (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Newcastle on 29 December 2025, where the gelding finished last of nine runners, beaten 26½ lengths.
Liam Bailey’s explanation that the gelding may have benefitted from the first time application of the tongue strap, was noted.
Howzak (GB) was routine tested.

The Veterinary Officer reported that Penny Mountain (IRE), unplaced, had bled from the nose.
