Amadeus Mozart hits all right notes on debut
They are lovely big horses - they were never away, so they are going to come forward plenty. Ryan liked him (the winner). He said he was a lovely horse and he wouldn’t mind stepping up. He’ll be a lovely horse next year, he’s a very big horse. He was very green.
O'Brien and Moore serve up quick-fire double via Flushing Meadows
Cold Hearted ruthless in collaring Stella Alpina
She deserved that, I deserved it too after all the seconds I was getting!. She toughed it out well, which was great. They went very quick and it helped her. We’ll maybe look for a three-year-old only handicap over the six furlongs. We’ll probably put her in a good one and keep her on a light weight - there’s not much of her, but she tries very hard.
Gazelle D'or wins 'right race' for Grassick
The last day nothing followed the front two. She likes to take her time but, when nothing followed, she ended up being too far back. We thought dropping back to five might suit her today. Even at that, he said they were going plenty fast but once she get passing one or two.. I was surprised how easily she’s won. She’s a hardy tough filly. She eats up and she’s very straightforward. We’ll maybe try and find a bit of black-type, there are plenty of races for her and there might be another nice handicap somewhere. We’ll have a look. The way she won you’d be sticking at five with her, maybe she doesn’t quite see out the six. She won at Navan and here over six, but they were in a lesser grade. She made up about eight of ten lengths on them last time in Fairyhouse and Billy (Lee) thought a furlong down he was going to get them, but then he didn’t. She won the right race. If she had won that she probably wouldn’t have run today or she would have had a penalty.
It's A Heartbeat sheds her maiden tag in fine fashion
We always liked her, her pedigree is lovely. Thankfully, Sven and Carina (Hanson) sent us in Saltwell at the end of last year, so we’ve trained her sister and we knew that she’d chill out lovely over a mile-and-a-half. That’s the way we wanted to ride her and it just sort of fell in Ronan’s lap. We like the first run to happen and then go away and learn from it. She’s learned from her experience and enjoyed that big shower today. It was yielding at Naas - I don’t think she needs it really easy, but that just definitely helped today. She came into it lovely, travelled sweetly, and won nicely. She’s all about next year. We’ll take our time now and won’t do anything silly. We’ll get her home and see how she is. We’ll pick something in 2026 and work back from that.
Mr Percy wins at Curragh ahead of a big campaign
Wayne gave him a lovely ride. He had a nice draw, he wasn’t the quickest away but he managed to get a good spot. He had to wait for a bit of room, but he was tough then when he got it. He’s a smart horse, he won a Grade 2 novice hurdle in Fairyhouse and we learned a lot that day. Cheekpieces, delivering him late, and good ground are probably the three things that suit him. He’s won a nice pot today and hopefully it won’t be the last one of the year. Ascot might be a bit soon. He could go to Galway and come back here for the Cesarewitch. He’s probably going to out of the weights in the Ebor. You’d love to go there but it might not be the right things to do for the horse. We’ll chat with Simon and Isaac and Anthony (Bromley) and make a plan from there.
Midnight Horizon enjoys her first foray into a handicap
I was a little worried the ground would be too fast for her but the rain earlier did help. Going back to six she looks to have found her trip anyway. We were having issues with the stalls and she wears the blanket. I have to say thanks to the stall handlers who have been very patient with her. She’s been very slow away twice and was getting very anxious in the stalls. They put the blanket and hood on her and Joey puts her to sleep. She’s only a three-year-old, so hopefully she’s progressive. It’s good to get a winner for Patrick (John O'Brien) as well as he’s a good owner. She’s just finding her feet in handicaps and she’s just found her level. Hopefully she can progress.
Saturn Seven keeps on best for Keane
I can’t any credit for her as Sarah (Lynam, daughter) does all the work with her. When she held a licence, she had her and she was second here. All I do is what I’m told, maybe I’m in charge of who mucks her out. She rides her and trains her. I’m delighted for her, but I’m going to take her commission anyway!
