John Bridger had gained prior permission from the BHA to run Lethal Blast (GB) with no hind shoes.
Permission was given for Lethal Blast (GB) to go early to post and be mounted on the chute.
Lethal Blast (GB), drawn 4, had anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started.
Being satisfied that it was not caused by a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
The performance of Lethal Blast (GB), which started favourite and finished seventh of seven runners, was considered.
John Bridger’s explanation that the filly was unable to dominate and was unsuited by the going on this occasion, which was officially described as Heavy, and in his opinion was riding tacky on this occasion, was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Lethal Blast (GB) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
