Navan Sat, 21st Mar, 2026  Champagne Venture Great performance. She just wasn't 100 per cent after the last day and we freshened her up. She had been working and schooling well, so this race just seemed to fit. . She's not winning out of turn. We think a good bit of her and we will probably tip away with her for another bit now and, if the ground dries up too much, we'll probably travel her and go to somewhere like Perth. . There's a possibility she could step up for the novice handicap final at Fairyhouse, we'll see. We will enjoy today. . She had her problems earlier on for training, but we've had a good run with her. She's a decent mare and we think a good bit of her. . You won't get better than Danny (Gilligan)- he rode a winner for me when he was claiming 7lb on Turf Range in Dundalk when he was an apprentice (March, 2023). I'm good friends with his dad. You just leave it to him and that's it.

Naas Fri, 9th Jan, 2026  Run For Cover We were trying to get her to settle as she’s very keen at home. Conor said we were wasting our time and we should try and make the running. Ricky rode her in Fairyhouse and she won, so why would you change it when it worked. She’ll get further but she’ll probably be penalised because of her style of running she is either going to win or be swallowed up. At least she has won for the owners, and they have the mare. I thought she’d be better going left-handed, but she jumped a bit right today. We’ll freshen her up and find another race for her. She’ll jump a fence too.

Fairyhouse Sat, 13th Dec, 2025  Run For Cover We said we’d give up fighting with her because she’s just very free in her races and we always had the hood on her. You’d have to drop her completely out and see if she could actually finish the race. We said we’d try something different. If she was allowed to go in front like that, there was a chance she would stay going because she wasn’t getting home fighting her and she was kind of resenting it. She was lovely and sweet, and she jumps really quick and well. She’s reasonably well handicapped and we’ll see if we can find another one like that. She handles the ground and goes two-and-a-half miles.

Gowran Park Sat, 8th Nov, 2025  Downmexicoway Downmexicoway toughed it out well and I’m delighted for Basil and Bernie Holian (owners). I was concerned about the ground, but he didn’t seem to mind it, and we’ll look for something in the next couple of weeks. He’s a nice horse and is progressing all the time.
