We’re starting the season on the right note. He won it with a nice bit in hand. We entered him in it thinking it might be a worse race but it wasn’t the worst race in the world for an ‘unplaced maiden’. I’m delighted and very grateful to the lads for sending on these horses.

Tramore Fri, 29th May, 2026  Splashing Out She enjoyed herself out in front and I’m delighted to get that with her. It’s coming towards the end of her season but they did a lovely job with the ground here and we were able to run on it. We just decided to change things up with her. She has been frustrating to train, she’s had a few races won and kind of snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. She did it well there and maybe with more positive tactics there might be another one in her. They are doing a good job of watering so we’ll keep an eye on the ground. She’s fit and well, and she’s fresh as she hasn’t had a hard season. She might appear out again.

Wexford Wed, 27th May, 2026  Kiltealy Park It didn’t look likely and I’d say yer man must have been 1/100 jumping the last!. It’s nice to get her back on track; she had a few disappointing runs. She was very unlucky in the Blazers one year and then we put blinkers on her and she was a bit keen. We said we’d leave them off and try to settle her. It was ideal today in a four-runner race to lob around and get her confidence back. It’s great to win something that didn’t look likely. It looked all over and I would have been happy with second, but she galloped well to the line. We’ll see where we go from here.

Wexford Thu, 7th May, 2026  Wild Bill Hickok He was a horse that we knew as a young horse and we kept an eye on him. When he came up for sale we were in the mix for him. The owner (Patrick Sheanon) has backed me this year and it’s a pleasing result for him and a lovely start. I’m delighted. He was impressive and he couldn’t pull him up. We’re not getting carried away with that race as it fell away a bit, but he’s a nice prospect going forward. We bought him with the idea of going four-year-old chasing, that he would get the allowances. It’s starting to work out for us now. We had him as a young horse for Coolmore and Gerry Aherne had recommended him back to me, and that’s the way it worked out.

Punchestown Thu, 30th Apr, 2026  Come Walk With Me We had always hoped that he was a smart horse. He’s a seven-year-old and we had a few little niggly problems along the way. This year we said we’d go one way or the other with him. I was going to keep him hurdling but he’s never won a hurdle, he’s been second a few times. We said we’d go chasing as we knew he loved jumping and this was the route to go. I’m thrilled with that performance today. He had plenty of weight to carry and I felt it was a much better race than the last day. He’ll have his holidays now and we’ll put a plan in place for next year. We could maybe step him into a Grade 3 or 2, whatever comes his way.

Tramore Mon, 20th Apr, 2026  I Walked The Line I picked up a ban at Cheltenham and Luke has been with us a couple of years, he is a brilliant rider and a fantastic horseman, so I was delighted to give him a chance and he took it with both hands. He is a good horse and I'm hoping he'll be an Aintree, Cheltenham horse next year. We might go to Stratford with him this year at the end of May. It fits in well. He is only five and he'll be six for Cheltenham next year, so he is young but hopefully we'll have him for a couple of years. If you have a Billaway type and can go to Cheltenham, Aintree and Punchestown every year, they are some great races. We are looking for a replacement for Billaway and he might be it. A better-jumping replacement!

Limerick Thu, 16th Apr, 2026  Miss Corby After all my seconds lately, it is nice to get one past the post. We might step her up now to three miles and she'll go on good ground as she has won on it in the past. That's Harry's second winner for me and he rides with his head, very much like his father (Charlie).

Tom Gibney’s horse (Anotherway) was flying and I thought he’d maybe flown, but Donagh thought he had enough to reel him in but you never know until you do it. You don’t want to see any horse falling. We’ll look at something in Punchestown, all being well.

Down Royal Tue, 17th Mar, 2026  Pat's Legacy We were very disappointed in him in Fairyhouse (second) - he's a big, immature horse and it has taken a long time for the penny to drop. It looks like it is dropping there now. He'll probably go straight to the final (in Punchestown) now, and he will be a nice chaser for next year. He's very versatile ground-wise - Keith (Donoghue) rode him on proper heavy a few days and he handled it, and he ran well with Donagh (Meyler) in Leopardstown on better ground.

We bought him at the Derby Sale (for 48,000 euro),. I don’t know how strong a race it was, but you couldn’t be any happier with him. . He’s a winter horse and he’ll be a chaser too. The Long Mile never won a hurdle race but, in saying that, he was placed in a few good hurdle races. . This lad always showed plenty and he’s by the right sire too. He’s definitely one to look forward to, these are the horses you want to be getting. . He’ll probably run once more and then we’ll put him away.

Naas Wed, 4th Mar, 2026  Walk In The Clouds It was great to get that. I think the ride won the race to be honest. She’s been a bit disappointing, but I think the cheekpieces maybe got her going. She was having a good look around and had a look at a wing or two. It’s great to get a win out of her. That’s her grade and it’s job done today, anything else is a bonus now after that. She was probably idling a bit in front and having a good look around. Kevin felt she wasn’t doing a tap in front.

Punchestown Sun, 15th Feb, 2026  Soul Asylum He’s a nice horse, a big galloper. He’s a next year horse really. You might see him in Fairyhouse or somewhere like that for a bumper. He wouldn’t be a horse that would be travelling to Cheltenham; he’s a big baby. If you watch his point-to-point the penny only really dropped, and he got galloping, late on. It wasn’t ideal to make the running today, but we had to go on as there was no gallop.
