FormscanBy Alan Magee - ASHDALE BOB bids to bridge a gap of three years without a win having landed a Grade 2 novice hurdle at the Fairyhouse Easter meeting in 2021. The Jessica Harrington-trained gelding held a career high mark of 153 last spring and has given some encouragement this term including a third to Sir Gerhard over this trip at Punchestown. The selection filled the runner-up spot behind Dee Capo at Leopardstown last time and Conor Smithers’ 7lb claim will be an asset on this testing ground. Da Capo Glory won over a similar trip here in January and only weakened on the run-in last time behind Langer Dan in the Coral Cup at Cheltenham. Lucky Zebo won four times last year and appeared not to stay three miles at Leopardstown over Christmas, while Thurles maiden winner Chosen Witness is another to consider.
