Formscan By Donal Murphy - The locally trained BIRMINGHAM ALABAMA gets the nod in this open contest. The winner of a point-to-point when in the care of Colin Bowe, the Ocovango bay wasn't knocked about on her track debut, finishing an encouraging fifth to Just For Love. Cottesloe Sunshine was two places ahead of the selection in third and she reopposes now. Godblessyourosie finished fourth on debut at Limerick in May and is another who wasn't given a hard time of it. Entitled to come on plenty for that effort, she should get a lot closer now. Placed on her last three starts, Slim Marvel certainly wouldn't be winning out of turn, while few would begrudge Ta Na La if she were to get her head in front. A strong case can be made for a few others, with the 104-rated Mill House Creek likely to give a good account of herself.
