he was well in at the weights so my only little worry was that we were coming back from fences and it was quick enough too since Killarney. I’m delighted for him because he’s after having a couple of tough races: it’s lovely to get an easy one like that. He’ll probably go back to Galway but he won’t go for the Hurdle and I don’t think he’ll go for the Plate either as I think it’s too far for him, and he’s gone up in the weights as well. He’s a lovely horse and the Grimes Hurdle in Tipperary might be worth looking at. He was a big baby last year and I know he the maiden hurdle he won last year wasn't a great race but he disappointed us afterwards. We loved him but I'd say he just wasn't able for what we were doing with him,. He has been a different horse since he came back in and had a lovely run the first day back. He has learned to settle and jump but today's race was only a restricted novice so we'll see where he goes from here. He is definitely a nice horse though, loves that ground and I'm delighted for the owners who are great supporters of the yard. He's a huge horse. I'm not sure where he goes now, the race at Thurles (Grade 3 Pierce Molony Memorial Novice Chase) would be an option and is probably more than likely where he'll go. He took some pearlers of falls last season and 'Puppy' (Robbie Power) did a great job with him, he went up to his for a while. The girls in the yard also did a lot of ground work at home with him. It's an unbelievable family and there are still two young ones running around. It was hard to work out Mullins' horses today as they ran so bad the last day. I thought if they mightn't be on song we might have a squeak. I know we had a bit to find on ratings but a graded race is a graded race and it was a nice pot.

I'm delighted with that, he was tough out and Darragh gave him a super ride. It looked like he was beaten turning in, but he just really ground it out. I think he did similar in his maiden hurdle here last year when Rachael won on him. He likes it here and it's brilliant to get one for the Brookhouse's. It was a good run the last day and he made a mistake at the third last that really took him out of it. I'd say this sort of staying track suits him better. It’s a lovely race to win with a great history to it. The soft ground is not too deep and they are finishing quite well today, so we just got away with it. There is a two-mile-five-furlong race at the Dublin Racing Festival and a little bit better ground should be a good fit.

That is a massive surprise and that's my first run with him. I saw he was in a claimer in Sligo last month for E15,000 and I bought into him myself privately after the race. I knew some of the lads involved and they asked me would I like to buy a share in him and to train him. we've changed things around, he is living in a paddock on his own and we've done a lot of different little things with him. I was hoping for a confidence-building run so it was far from expected, but I think we can build on it. I have him six weeks, we haven't worked him hard and he is a lovely horse. He is a famous horse and was a very cheap horse to buy into. I just thought his run at Aintree (in April) was very good, he looked like he had problems on his two later runs but, for me, he looked an obvious horse to have a go with. I love these older horses, the owners were great to give me a go and it is a great prize to win.
