Permission was given for Kingsclere (USA), Nymphaea (GB), and So Alex (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately one and a half furlongs out, involving the winner, Dust Cover (GB), ridden by Jack Mitchell, and Silkies Sib (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Pat Cosgrave.
The interference was found to be accidental as Mitchell’s mount took an awkward stride at the same time as he had committed for a legitimate gap on the outside of Cosgrave, causing Cosgrave to be moved off his line and have to take a check.
Approaching the half furlong marker, Whatacracker (GB), placed fifth, committed to a legitimate gap at the same time as Kingsclere (USA), placed fourth, shifted right-handed, carrying Whatacracker (GB) off its intended line, which in turn bumped Naughty Niall (GB), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved, and that it had not improved the placings of Whatacracker (GB) or Kingsclere (USA).
Following the race, Kevin Stott reported that Woodleigh (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run inside the final half-furlong.
