He is a very smart horse and had been showing us that the whole time. He was too pacey and probably hadn't enough height to go point to pointing so we decided to wait for a bumper. He is big enough though, has always been showing a lot of gears and is a very good horse. It's only now I have him ready and I'm sure he'll handle bad ground as well. Roger O'Byrne is a wonderful owner of mine, he's in America and we've had an awful lot of luck together. He will get serious excitement out of that.

The Raceday Stewards fined Rodger Sweeney, trainer of Heslostthehunger, €130 for failing to declare to the authorities that his charge is now a gelding as required under the provisions of Rule 148(xii)
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident on the home turn involving Galileo Sand, ridden by Mr J.L. Gleeson, placed third, Tim Toe, ridden by Mr D. Doyle, placed first, and Eagle Of Destiny, ridden by Mr B. O'Neill, placed first, where it appeared Galileo Sand momentarily ran wide into the racing line of Eagle Of Destiny. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
