Tuesdays Child (GB) wore earplugs which were removed at the start.
Leaving the stalls, the winner, Pomme Pomme (IRE) jumped right-handed, bumping Ruling Master (IRE), placed fifth, and unbalancing that gelding, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Pomme Pomme (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong, involving Ruling Master (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by William Carver; Betty Bassett (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Ryan Kavanagh; and Ottoman (IRE), placed second, ridden by Aiden Brookes.
Brookes was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he allowed his horse to shift left-handed, without sufficient correction under a right-hand drive, hampering Kavanagh who was shifted left-handed onto Carver, who in turn became tight for room on the rail and had to take a check.
Following the race, Ryan Kavanagh reported that Betty Bassett (IRE), placed fourth, was denied a clear run for some time approaching the final furlong; and Aiden Brookes reported that Ottoman (IRE), placed second, hung left-handed under pressure; and the Veterinary Officer reported that Tuesdays Child (GB), unplaced, had an irregular heartbeat.
