Permission was given for Studious (IRE) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring only.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong involving the winner, Run With It (IRE), ridden by Jack Dace and Saxonia (GB), placed second, ridden by Neil Callan.
Being a 7Ib Claiming Apprentice, Dace was accompanied in the enquiry by a senior rider.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Run With It (IRE)'s placing as having progressed past Saxonia (GB), the gelding hung sharply left-handed taking Saxonia (GB) markedly off its intended line.
Having then straightened up with ½ furlong to run, Saxonia (GB) continued without making inroads into the deficit to be beaten 1 ¼ lengths at the line.
The Stewards therefore could not be satisfied that Saxonia (GB) would have finished in front of Run With It (IRE) with an uninterrupted run to the line and therefore ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
The interference was found to be accidental as Run With It (IRE) hung sharply left-handed before being corrected by Dace in a timely manner.
