An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the winning post with a circuit to run, involving Forever Proud (GB), placed third, ridden by Hector Crouch; I CAN’T BELIEVE, unplaced, ridden by George Downing; and Venetian (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Sean Davis.
Davis was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he moved his mount left-handed, towards the inside rail, when insufficiently clear of I CAN’T BELIEVE, which was tightened for room over a number of strides, before Downing was forced to check his mount and this in turn resulted in Forever Proud (GB) being bumped on multiple occasions when crowded for racing room.
