It was noted that Wobwobwob (IRE), drawn 13, put its head down at the same time as the start was effected causing P J McDonald to lose his irons.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after leaving the stalls involving Newsreader (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Phoebe Edwards and Silver Samurai (GB), placed second, ridden by Kieran Shoemark.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, Edwards was accompanied by a senior jockey.
Edwards was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as she moved Newsreader (IRE) right-handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear of Silver Samurai (GB) causing Shoemark to take a check.
Inside the final furlong, Farasi Lane (IRE), placed fourth, shifted left-handed before being quickly corrected, taking BISHOP’S CROWN, unplaced, off its intended line, which in turn, caused RACINGBREAK RYDER (IRE), placed third, to also be taken slightly off its intended line.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Farasi Lane (IRE).
Following the race, Pat Cosgrave reported that HIERONYMOUS, unplaced, anticipated the start and was slowly away as a result.
