Blue Waters completed a good day at the office for trainer Gordon Elliott when keeping on best under Harry Swan to win the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies INH Flat Race at Ballinrobe.

Having sent out a double at Downpatrick this afternoon and, an earlier winner on this card, Elliott was registering a four-timer on the day.

Tracking the leaders under Swan, 9/4f Blue Waters was pushed along in third three-furlongs from the finish.

Coming through to tackle leader Miss Jocund approaching the straight, the Blue Bresil mare soon led, quickening up well to go away for an easy three-and-a-quarter length win.

Swan said:- “It was a messy enough race. She didn’t travel at all the last day and she lit up a little bit early on.

“I was happy that she was at least travelling today, she didn’t travel at all the last day.

“She’s come on a lot from the last day, a huge amount. I didn’t think she’d come on that much.

“She stepped forward a lot and I thought that was quite impressive.

“She could be a very nice mare, she has a good pedigree.”
