Codd relieved to come out on top Jamie Codd spoke of his relief after winning the point-to-point accolade for the second year in a row at Horse Racing Ireland's annual awards earlier in the week. Codd came out on top after a battle with Derrick O'Connor and then rode a Grade One winner at Punchestown for his old boss Willie Mullins on Shaneshill. "It's been a great year, I've just been very lucky, everything stayed sound," he told Irish Horse TV. "Myself and Derrick had a great tussle but it was nice to cap it off by winning the title and then the Grade One for Willie, everything worked out. "It had been annoying me that I wasn't winning the title, but thankfully this year it all went well. "It's the point-to-point championships but there was massive pressure, more mentally than physically. "The last four or five weeks were very tough but it's nice to be in that position. "The Grade One was special as I worked for Willie for five years before going down another path so to get a Grade One was very special. "Riding for my brother William, Dennis Murphy and Gordon Elliott, I ride for some top people."
