For the second evening in succession, Harry Swan produced a well fancied Gordon Elliott runner from off the pace to land the spoils, as debutant Woodland Adventure won the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF 4-y-o Fillies INH Flat Race at Cork.

The duo, who also took the last at Downpatrick less than 24 hours earlier, were back in the number one spot after the well-bred daughter of Camelot made the perfect start to her career.

A half-sister to Group 3 winner Iveagh Gardens, the late maturing Woodland Adventure showed that she inherited at least some of that ones ability when quickening up close home to beat Samba Train

Always well placed under Swan, the 4/1 chance closed on the leaders entering the home straight. Pushed along to join Master Sydney over a furlong out, the eventual winner and runner-up, Samba Train kicked on.

Spread right across the track, it was unclear which side held the advantage until close home, when with the aid of the stands rail, Woodland Adventure went on to win by one-and-three-quarter lengths.

Lisa O'Neill said: "She is a lovely filly and has a good Flat pedigree. She was very professional today in everything she did and Harry gave her a lovely ride.

"She had been doing things nicely and hopefully will have a good career.

"It is great for the owner John Kalmanson, who is South African, and runs a big breeding operation so it is lovely to get the win on the board."
