Elliott's grey shows Unflinching attitude under Swan The 11/10 favourite Unflinching certainly lived up to his name when battling back from what looked certain defeat in the concluding William Hill Each Way Extra Challenge Series Point-To-Point Flat Race at Fairyhouse. The grey son of Montmartre, successful at Dromahane in April when in the care of Colin Bowe, was towards the head of affairs from flagfall in a steadily-run contest but was ridden and dropped to third entering the final quarter-mile. Looking held at the furlong pole, Gigginstown House Stud's five-year-old responded well to Harry Swan's urgings and reclaimed the lead close home to beat All Night Revival and Catalani by a neck and three-parts of a length. Winning trainer Gordon Elliott commented succinctly: “He’s a lovely horse but he’s not a bumper horse. He’s a galloper and a big jumping horse. “He’ll go jumping now.” Additional reporting by Alan Magee
