Keane doubles up on impressive Johnny's Oasis Colin Keane doubled up on the evening in the finale at Dundalk as Johnny’s Oasis added to a victory here last month with an impressive success in the Bar One Racing Bet Builder Boost Handicap. The Ado McGuinness-trained gelding was again patiently ridden and made good headway from off the pace in the straight. The 100/30 chance drew clear inside the final furlong to beat 3/1 favourite Ballymagreehan by three and three-quarter lengths with Sporting Aclaim in third. McGuinness said, “The biggest thing I think with this horse is that he just needs a fast pace. He needs the race to collapse. "It was a bit of a muddling race (last week). "He was drawn wide (tonight) and I didn't think he would win. I wasn't going to run him actually; he was so far out. "I just told Colin to hunt away with him and that's all he did. If they go fast, he is laughing, and that is exactly what happened. "It is great for Jimmy (Fairhurst, owner) and the boys. "He was a dear breezer, he was an 80 grand breezer. He wasn't a cheap horse when we bought him and a little disappointing since we got him. He’s made up for a bit of lost time now. He'll be worth a few quid. "I think he'll make into a nice hurdler during the summer next year. "We will have to get a hurdle winner now very shortly!" Keane initiated his double on the Ger Lyons-trained juvenile Prevalence (11/4). Quotes by Michael Graham
