Korinthia lands the odds on hurdling debut The Willie Mullins-trained Korinthia got on top in the closing stages to land the odds on her jumping debut at Ballinrobe. The dual bumper winner was sent to post a 4/7 shot in the mares maiden hurdle and was settled behind the leaders in the early stages of the two-mile-one contest. Paul Townend produced her to dispute over the last and the daughter of Jukebox Jury got the better of Youre A Derry Girl to post a two-and-three-quarter length success. Patrick Mullins said afterwards:- "Paul said it was a messy race, that they went steady and there were horses jumping in on top of her.  "She settled much better than she had in her bumpers. Jumping and a hood probably helped, and probably Paul's hands as well! "He said the ground was plenty soft for her, she's not very big, and she took a blow so there should be improvement.  "She has a lovely pedigree. I actually got beat a short head on the dam by Jamie Codd in Killarney one summer, and it was the year I lost the championship by one, so that's what I remember of her!"  "We had her ready to run in May or June but she got a little setback and that's why we're getting her out now. I don't think she's going to be a real middle of winter horse but you can get dry ground now into November, so there'll be a few options." (Quotes by Mark Nunan)
