Maarek set for more trips across the water British racegoers can again expect to see a lot of leading sprinter Maarek this season, according to trainer Evanna McCutcheon. The Grade One-winning eight-year-old has become a regular visitor across the Irish Sea, and competed at York, Haydock Park and Ascot last term. Maarek was not at his best in 2014, but he did win the Duke Of York Stakes last May and is already giving off enough positive vibes to suggest he will soon be ready to race. The Co Tipperary handler said: "He's wintered very well and he's as strong as he's ever been at this time of year. "We'll probably give him a gallop next week and see where we are, but he's getting there. "There's a Listed race in Cork at the start of April, but that might come a shade too soon. "I think there's a good chance he'll be spending a lot of time in England again this summer."
