Jamie Powell delivered Perfect Judgement (2/1 fav) with a nicely-timed challenge to complete doubles for himself and trainer Stephen Thorne in the one-mile handicap.

Thorne had landed the previous contest with Volatile Analyst partly owned by Perfect Judgement's owners Shamrock Thoroughbreds, while Powell had earlier denied Thorne a treble on the evening when scoring on Ado McGuinness' Exquisite Acclaim at the expense of Hightimeyouwon in the 7f rated race.

With his mount travelling best behind the leaders from early in the straight, Powell bided his time and produced the Inns Of Court four-year-old to head Anvika inside the final furlong for a half-length success.

"Jamie has given him a well-timed challenge again, was keen to sit and wait as long as he could," said Thorne

"The mile has really brought out brilliant improvement in the horse and the blinkers as well, it was the change in headgear that sparked him. A combination of the whole lot.

"The surface suits him well. He won a nice winners' race early on in the year, he was proven on the all-weather.

"The handicapper actually in fact gave him a split rating. Interesting enough, when we started back on the all-weather the horse ended up being back on an even mark on both Flat (turf) and all-weather.

"He is effective on both grass and all-weather. He won a nice handicap around Leopardstown. This horse handles a bit of cut in the ground.

"Hopefully, that will give him plenty of confidence and there might be a nice 0-90 or 0-100 we can target next.

"We gave a lot of money for him as a breezer, so at least he is repaying the lads with a few winners."
