Prevalence showed the benefit of her debut over course and distance when opening her account in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden at Dundalk.

The Juddmonte homebred daughter of Dark Angel never got involved after a slow start in September but better was expected here as she was supported into 11/4 at the off.

She was never too far from the pace under Colin Keane, and after being switched left under two furlongs out, got on top in the closing stages to beat Astronomically by half a length. Liberation Date was a further three-quarters of a length back in third while Star Strewn available at 50/1 this morning and further supported on track from 12/1 into 9/4 favourite, showed signs of inexperience on debut before keeping on in fourth.

Winning trainer Ger Lyons said, “Very important - she is related to Juncture. As Colin said, it took us all of her three-year-old career (Juncture) to get her to tick the box we wanted.

"Total different filly tonight than she was the first night. She acted clueless on the first night and we knew coming (tonight) we had a different filly.

"Going to the start, I thought she was a bit on it. Then didn't have the pace to hold her position and I said 'for a small filly, you are going to have to be good now because he (Keane) had to take back and go'. She was good and honest.

"Time will tell how big the race is. We are a long way off where we want to be, but we will give her that chance now. She has all her three-year-old career to hit the boxes we need to be ticking for that pedigree.

"The good news is, job done at two, and I can stop now. You won't see her again before May."
