The Ebor Handicap is the culmination of four days of fantastic racing at York and Saturday's main dish on the Knavesmire is worth £300,000 to the winner.

Irish-trained horses have won four of the last six renewals and there is a strong raiding party again as we look at all the runners in the Sky Bet Ebor Handicap over 1m6f at York on Saturday (15:35).

  • French Master (John & Thady Gosden)

This Frankel colt sports a first-time visor and needs improvement to defy top-weight, but he scored over this trip at Royal Ascot in June in fine style and wasn't disgraced since in a 2m Group 1 at Goodwood.

    Hipop De Loire (Willie Mullins)

Colin Keane rides for the champion jumps trainer of Britain and Ireland, who won this race in 2009 and 2023. He was fifth in this contest last year after meeting all sorts of trouble and scored in smooth style over hurdles at Galway recently.

    Yashin (Michael Bell)

Churchill gelding was a Group 3 winner in Ireland at this trip in 2023 for Jessica Harrington. He won the Sagaro Stakes at Ascot (2m, good to firm) in April on stable bow after a layoff but has run poorly in top Group-races twice since.

    Queenstown (Aidan O'Brien)

First of the Ballydoyle contenders in the race Aidan O'Brien bagged in 2001. This Galileo gelding had some very promising form early last season but disappointed in this contest. He's 3lb lower now and has Ryan Moore's assistance.

    Kihavah (Adrian Keatley)

Useful dual-purpose performer for Adrian Keatley, he came home strongly to finish second in this last year from 9lb lower and is a three-time York winner.

    Ethical Diamond (Willie Mullins)

Second contender for Closutton. Strictly has stamina to prove at the trip but came home strongly to win the Duke Of Edinburgh over 1m4f at Royal Ascot in June off an 8lb lower rating. William Buick rides now.

    London City (Aidan O'Brien)

Relatively lightly-raced son of Justify was a winner over 1m4f here at the Dante Festival in 2024. Missed a chunk of time afterwards but respected for top connections.

    Onesmoothoperator (Brian Ellison)

A proven performer in big-field handicaps who ran to form in C&D Group 3 here recently and also performed well when seventh in this last year.

    Subsequent (Andrew Balding)

Listed winner over this trip on heavy going at Ascot in October but has left something to be desired after two poor runs this summer. Andrew Balding and Oisin Murphy have been amongst the winners this week. Tongue tied now.

    Real Dream (Ian Williams)

Appeared to do too much too soon when fading in this race in 2023. Signs of a revival in recent runs, including last month's Newmarket third.

    Roaring Legend (Hugo Palmer)

Comes here off the back of a good fourth in the bet365 Trophy at Newmarket last month over this trip from 1lb higher and that gives connections hope.

    Stressfree (David O'Meara)

Fairly consistent performer but 4-25 strike-rate is a concern (placed 10 times). He has thrice run well at York over shorter trips in the last year but more needed off current mark.

    Shadow Dance (Roger Varian)

Likeable performer with a pleasing attitude. Was back from 319 days off when shaping with some purpose in the Chesterfield Cup at Glorious Goodwood last month and promises to be much better suited at this trip.

    Siege Of Troy (Johnny Murtagh)

Trainer has won this race twice and this Siyouni filly has shown promise in pattern-race company and when fourth behind Ethical Diamond at Royal Ascot. She's on a good mark and rising star Patrick McGettigan takes 7lb off.

    Enemy (Ian Williams)

Has tried and failed in this race twice before and while he has found some form recently, it would be a shock if he becomes the oldest winner since Sea Pigeon in 1979.

    Oneforthegutter (Ian Williams)

Completes a trio of runners for Ian Williams and arrives in great nick after winning the bet365 Trophy over this trip at Newmarket last month from 6lb lower and with plenty of these rivals behind. Third last year.

    Ascending (Henry De Bromhead)

Trainer won this a year ago but history is against him repeating it. This Awtaad gelding is on the up, however, after wins at Dundalk and Cork preceded a gutsy Ascot Stakes success over 2m4f at the Royal meeting in June. Just 3lb higher here dropped in trip.

    Almosh'her (Karl Burke)

Winner over 1m4f here at the Dante meeting in May and has been gelded since getting himself worked up before the Duke Of Edinburgh at Royal Ascot in one run since. On a fair mark for a top team.

    Majestic Warrior (James Tate)

Takes some training, it seems, but boasts figures of 1411 in his career and returned from nearly two years off to win at Thirsk in good style in April. Returns after a short break since and is a half-brother to 2020 Ebor winner Fujaira Prince.

    Charlus (Willie Mullins)

The last of the Mullins contenders, he did win over hurdles on first run after arriving from France but has toiled over hurdles/on the Flat since. Jamie Spencer gets the reins in this revival attempt.

    Fleetfoot (Jim Bolger)

Largely consistent on the Flat for Jim Bolger and has looked progressive in three Irish runs (two wins) this summer. Bit more demanded but cheekpieces added and stamina could be a key trait.

    Mr Percy (Joseph O'Brien)

Flat winner at the Curragh over this trip in June off a mark of 87 and boasts promising form in this sphere. 10lb higher now, however, and was poor over hurdles at the Galway Races. Has to bounce back.

    3.351m. 5f. 188yds. 22 Declared.
