Short priced market leader Casheldale Lad made all under Jack Kennedy to run out a comfortable winner of the featured bottlegreen Hurdle (Listed Race) at Down Royal.

Third in the Galway Hurdle on his penultimate outing, the son of Raven's Pass scored on his most recent start at Listowel in September.

Sent off 1/4f to follow up, the five-year-old was bounced out in front and never headed. Royal Hollow briefly looked a threat when looming up travelling strongly after three out but the Andrew Slattery trained mare had no more to offer at the penultimate flight, as Casheldale Lad went away to win by seven lengths.

Gordon Elliott, who was completing a double, said: "He is (going the right way) and Jack said he has actually gone so laid-back from a horse that was very keen.

"He said he won with plenty in hand and was actually idling in front. He enjoyed himself, but he wasn't doing a whole lot in front - he was very idle."

He had previously mentioned the Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham as a potential target and when asked about this, replied: "We'll get him home and see how he is and we'll make our mind up. He has entries in them all (Morgiana at Punchestown) and we'll see what we do."

Paddy Power went 12/1 (from 14) Casheldale Lad for the Greatwood Hurdle.
