< Pleascach justified Jim Bolger's decision to drop her back to a mile as she pulled out the stops to beat hot favourite Found in a pulsating finish to the Tattersalls Irish 1,000 Guineas at the Curragh.

The daughter of Teofilo, who ran away with the 10-furlong Blue Wind Stakes at Naas 11 days earlier, was always handy as Bolger's trio of runners led the way in the Classic.

The 11-2 chance took the lead two furlongs out and ran on strongly as Found put in a determined challenge through the final half-furlong, holding off the Ballydoyle runner by half a length under a determined Kevin Manning.< Al Kazeem (3-1) regained his Tattersalls Gold Cup crown with a thrilling victory in the Group One race, which he also won in 2013 before his brief stint at stud.

James Doyle had to squeeze through a tight gap between long-time leader Postponed and The Grey Gatsby to make his challenge a furlong and a half out, and Roger Charlton's seven-year-old ran on with gusto to beat Fascinating Rock by a neck.

David Wachman's progressive filly Curvy (15-2) completed a treble in the Airlie Stud Gallinule Stakes on her step up to Group Three company, leading inside the final furlong and just finding enough to hold the charging favourite Giovanni Canaletto by a neck.< Air Force Blue (4-1) made a winning debut for the Aidan O'Brien yard in the Big Bad Bob EBF Maiden, holding a prominent position all the way and asserting going to the furlong pole under Ryan Moore before keeping Rockaway Valley at bay by a neck.

Moore doubled up when Martin Hassett's Master Speaker (11-2) won the K Club Hotel, Spa & Ryder Cup Venue Handicap, and made it three when O'Brien's Bantry Bay (4-5 favourite) cleared away in the Dublin Coach To The Curragh Races EBF Maiden.

Fran Berry kept Pyromaniac (13-2) going to repel Awesome Star by a head in the Irish Tatler Celebrating 125 Years Handicap, while Majenta (14-1) led home a bunch of late-chargers to take the N Conlan & Sons BMW Handicap under Chris Hayes.
