Dancing Destiny burst through late on to make a winning debut in the opening Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden at Roscommon.

The Joseph O’Brien-trained filly went to post a well-backed 5/1 shot in the seven-and-a-half furlong contest having been as big as 16/1 this morning.

She came between horses inside the final furlong to launch her challenge and got on top close home to beat Our Boy Bailey by half-a-length.

O’Brien’s race planner Kevin Blake said afterwards:- “She’s a home-bred for David Fish.

“She had worked very well on an away day and the hopes were that she would acquit herself well but whatever she did she was always going to improve from it.

“Joseph trained the dam and she stayed quite well. Seven-and-a-half is plenty for a two-year-old at this time of year but she galloped out really strong.

“She looked quite nice there. She was lovely and relaxed beforehand, did everything right, and Deccy was quite taken with her.

“There have been some good horses that have come out of this place, so hopefully she’s another one.”

The winner, a daughter of Magna Grecia, is the second foal of three-time winner Dancing Approach.

She is actually from the same family as her own sire. Her grand-dam Dream Approach is a half-sister to Cabaret, the dam of Magna Grecia.
