Pebble Bleu scores for Motherway and Kenneally Pebble Bleu (14s - 13/2) made virtually all the running when securing an all-out head-and-head success from her two nearest pursuers today, landing Tramore’s Book A Table For New Years Day Mares Handicap Hurdle for trainer Colin Motherway and jockey Michael Kenneally. Carrying the colours of Drury Tea & Coffee Limited, the six-year-old mare was initially strongly pressed by Amburana in the dip and, with runners bypassing hurdles in the home straight due to the low sun, Pebble Blue then fought off both runner-up Miss Lia and faster-finishing Cousin Kate for a narrow success. Kenneally commented “she loves being ridden like that - to bounce out and make the running. Any time something comes to her you can feel it, because she is just a big open galloper. She loves doing it and it's her game, so there is no point in interfering with it. "I've a couple of winners left on my 7lb claim, things are going well thanks be to God and long may it last."
